Information we collect
- Identity information used to verify farmers against Kenya's Integrated Population Registration System (IPRS), such as national ID number and full name.
- Contact details, including phone number and email address.
- Location data, including county, sub-county and ward, and farm location where provided.
- Listings and transaction data — produce or input listings, purchase requests, messages, and completed transactions.
- Device and usage information needed to operate the web dashboards and mobile app.
How we use it
- To verify identity and reduce fraud on the platform.
- To connect farmers, buyers and suppliers, and support negotiation, messaging and logistics.
- To give county and platform admins the oversight tools needed for approvals, extension officer management and incident tracking.
- To calculate ratings and trust scores from completed transactions.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations, including those arising from Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
Who we share it with
Verified data may be shared with county government administrators for oversight purposes within their jurisdiction, and with relevant national systems as integrations expand. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
Data retention & security
Data is retained only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, and is protected using reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.
